Centralia Carillon Bell Tower Invites Community to Celebrate America's 250th Anniversary
CENTRALIA, Ill. — The Centralia Carillon Bell Tower, located in the newly renovated downtown park at the heart of Centralia, invites residents and visitors to join a special patriotic celebration honoring America's 250th anniversary on July 4.
The family-friendly event will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will feature live music, children's activities, patriotic ceremonies, and opportunities to enjoy one of Centralia's most treasured landmarks.
Event Schedule
2:30 p.m. – Portable Calliope Performance
3:30 p.m. – Opening Ceremony
Presentation of a giant 30-foot American flag
Veterans Color Guard tribute
4:00 p.m. – Patriotic Carillon Bell Concert
Featuring acclaimed carillonneur Adam Lenhart of Michigan
Family Activities
Free children's activities presented by Carrie Leigh's Arts for Kids
Splashpad fun for children
Stroll through beautifully landscaped grounds featuring flower-lined and tree-lined pathways
The first 50 attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the United States Constitution.
Food will be available for purchase. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy an afternoon of music, community, and patriotic celebration.

Constructed between 1982 and 1983, the Centralia Carillon Bell Tower stands as a musical landmark overlooking the city. The tower hosts concerts throughout the year and offers tours by appointment, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to experience one of the region's distinctive cultural attractions.
